An embassy in Ballsbridge is to be converted back to its original use as a single family home.
This large freestanding Edwardian house has been in embassy use since the 1950’s and the project is to bring it back to use as a family home.
The design approach is one of minimal intervention into the original house which is a beautiful and mostly intact Edwardian home.
Works to the historic rooms are restricted to necessary repairs, redecoration and refurbishment of bathrooms to accommodate the needs of a modern family.
The modern intervention is an extension to the ground floor level and to the rear, replacing a series of unsympathetic twentieth century additions.
