This project is a restoration and extension of a mid-terrace house Dartmouth Square.
It is located on the south side of the square and is a protected structure. The brief is to make a generous living/ dining/ kitchen/ TV room at ground floor- creating an open space connected to both the front and rear garden. An existing non-original return in poor condition and with claustrophobic spaces is to be demolished and a simple form brick extension constructed in its place. A tall window with a seat creates a private space to overlook the garden as well as introducing a view from the entrance hall. The extension also accommodates a small bathroom and home office. The piano nobile reception rooms, entrance hall and unusual winding staircase are to be restored and redecorated. A master bedroom with en-suite will occupy the full width of the house at second floor, overlooking Dartmouth Square.
