Lake House

New house in Special Area of Conservation

This is a new tailor made home on a spectacular site by the sea in Dublin. The site is located on Burrow Road, on the north side of Howth peninsula, a special area of conservation. The site is bounded by the dunes of Burrow beach to the north and contains a large lake to the south! There are wonderful views of Lambay Island and Ireland’s Eye. This house is all about availing of this spectacular setting. The design relates to the path of the sun from east through south to west. The form of the house is long and cranked to maximise the views and it's roof is pitched upwards to maximise sunlight. The house is lifted out of the ground to comply with Fingal Co Council’s flooding policy. The result is a raised house with great views and lots of sunlight.
