Restoration of a Victorian treasure house
Ryans of Park Gate Street is a protected structure of national importance. It is a public house dating from the early 1830s and is famous for its beautiful original Victorian pub interior. Ryans has been described as: Simply beautiful, a rare combination of pleasant pub and national monument, one of the best preserved pubs in the Dublin City. This project was for the conservation and repair of the building after extensive damage by fire. An detailed survey was carried out to document the building and all its details. The interior was completely restored, original joinery repaired and ornate ceiling panels re-instated. All original fabric was retained.
